Today, sustainability change-maker Dr. Viv Heslop has joined Edge Environment as their new Head of Built Environment and Sustainability Implementation, bringing with her over 20 years’ experience spanning consulting, sustainable urban development, infrastructure and government administration.
Viv will be based in Melbourne, charged with expanding Edge’s property and infrastructure sector work into the Victorian market and beyond. In the role she’ll oversee Edge’s work on sustainability strategy and ratings, providing technical advice to property and community projects, and delivering environmental management and due diligence services.
Commenting on her appointment, Edge’s Director of Operations, Ken Lunty, said “Viv’s experience in sustainability advisory, both within Government agencies and as a consultant advising on major developments, will further build our reputation with built environment clients across Australia and New Zealand. The leadership she brings – from very senior roles with the likes of Auckland Council and Auckland Transport – will be invaluable during a period of rapid growth in our business.”
Viv added: “When the role came up at Edge, it didn’t take long to make up my mind that it was the right fit for me. With so much construction happening as we build ourselves out of the Covid downturn, working with the Edge team offers a wonderful opportunity to help ensure it’s a green and truly sustainable recovery.”
Viv will remain in Auckland until November, providing Edge with a platform to build on existing relationships with New Zealand clients such as Kianga Ora, Watercare and Marley NZ. At the earliest opportunity, she will then join up with her colleagues at Edge’s new office in Melbourne.
