The guide was based on research into the embodied impacts of packaging, local availability of resource recovery infrastructure and the relationship between packaging design and food waste. Key outputs included a decision-making tool to help buyers choose the most sustainable packaging based on the specific characteristics of the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, the project also delivered an organisation-wide environmental footprint assessment, designed to identify social and environmental hotspots in the company&#8217;s supply chain.
