Compostable Packaging Feasibility Studies I & II<\/h1><\/header>

As part of its mission to reduce its landfill waste, AMPC wanted to explore the feasibility of rolling our compostable foodware and a composting service within the food courts at one of its shopping centres. The project included detailed research into the availability of packaging alternatives, an assessment of current foodware use in the centre, a waste audit to understand current waste volumes and diversion rates, and creation of a cost model to test the overall business case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The analysis identified significant opportunities to divert waste and reduce waste services costs, counterbalanced by an increased in packaging costs faced by tenants. The findings are being used to inform AMPC\u2019s sustainability strategy, as well as the design of new facilities and future leasing arrangements.<\/p>\n<\/div>
