This month, Gabi Stephen\u00a0chose\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bluebottlefilms.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bluebottle Films<\/a>.\u00a0Here\u2019s why\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have chosen independent filmmakers\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.themaptoparadise.com\/howtogetinvolved\/#howtogetinvolved1\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.themaptoparadise.com\/howtogetinvolved\/%23howtogetinvolved1&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1487987807856000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEfMQid28UpO4McS2fHfL8V_ntupg\">Bluebottle Films<\/a>\u00a0in conjunction with the Sea Life Trust to receive $300 this month and make more good!\u00a0Their documentaries create\u00a0awareness of social and environmental issues, which I find greatly inspiring.<\/p>\n<p>Bluebottle Films&#8217;\u00a0latest documentary,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/152146895\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/vimeo.com\/152146895&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1487987807856000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGpSvMRbXk-jc1TV77AdjhAhHuJVA\">Restoring Earth<\/a><\/em>,\u00a0is all about getting one of Australia\u2019s most heated environmental conflicts, regarding land clearing, on the dinner table. The film traces\u00a0a Manly\u00a0caf\u00e9 owner&#8217;s supply chain\u00a0and looks at\u00a0the effects it has\u00a0on the environment.<\/p>\n<p>More and more consumers are looking to know where their food comes from and will be surprised to know that Australia ranks third among developed nations for land clearing globally. The practice\u00a0has soared under reforms in Queensland and now the NSW Government\u2019s reforms to the Biodiversity Conservation Act could pave the way for a return to broad scale land clearing. <strong>Contrary to the pioneering philosophy that clearing the native landscape equals productivity, land clearing is responsible for a deficit in water and poor soil quality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, <em>Restoring Earth<\/em> shows that\u00a0farming within healthy native ecosystems is possible.<\/p>\n<p>Bluebottle Films is\u00a0working on a new film to be launched in mid-2017.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/150964601\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/vimeo.com\/150964601&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1487987807856000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHEjE_icrnS5aoZg8Jz6V3teEednA\">A Map to Paradise<\/a>\u00a0takes a journey forward in\u00a0time to a\u00a0new era of ocean conservation and marine parks.<\/p>\n<p>Being independent film makers Bluebottle Films\u00a0needs support and donations to bring these documentaries to life.\u00a0I am very excited to support and see the full documentary and future projects!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edge Environment is\u00a0donating $300 each month to a charity chosen by a staff member as part of our &#8216;Make More Good&#8216; campaign.
