In light of the impact of COVID-19 on business the Australian government has announced today<\/a> that the reporting deadline for entity\u2019s Modern Slavery Statement has been extended by 3 months. This is welcome news by businesses who have had their efforts in responding to modern slavery disrupted. In a time when vulnerable people who are at risk of exploitation is heightened, it\u2019s more important now than ever that business take the issue seriously and can put the resources needed into understanding their risk of modern slavery and putting in place appropriate due diligence practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
