In November, 2019, Edge\u2019s Senior Consultant, Joana Almeida, chose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wires.org.au\/\">WIRES<\/a> <\/em><em>to be the recipient.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11934\" src=\"https:\/\/edgeenvironment.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/baby-kangaroo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"165\" \/>It\u2019s a week from hell in New South Wales and Queensland, and wildlife is often an overlooked victim. That\u2019s why, with Edge\u2019s help, I\u2019m making multiple donations to capable organisations that are out there rescuing and healing Australia\u2019s critters in the bushfire emergency.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Australia\u2019s onslaught on its own biodiversity is the stuff of History. It\u2019s Historic in its scale, speed and the value of the loss.<\/p>\n<p>I want to praise the exception, those who tirelessly save what can be saved, from large conservation and rescue organisations to those everyday citizens who live to help (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2019-11-12\/koalas-injured-in-nsw-bushfires-treated-in-couples-home\/11693936\">check out this great story of a couple who keeps injured koalas in their living room<\/a>!).<\/p>\n<p>As I\u2019m writing this blog, these people have an emergency in their hands, with thousands of wild animals being impacted by the bushfires in NSW and Queensland. That\u2019s why I asked Edge to bring forward my annual Make More Good donation by a month, so we could channel some much needed financial help to a few organisations that are, right now, actively rescuing wildlife, minding the injured and preventing further loss to bushfires.<\/p>\n<p>This month\u2019s Make More Good donation of $300 goes to WIRES\u2019 emergency fund.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m donating a further $250 to Port Macquarie\u2019s Koala Hospital and $250 to Birdlife\u2019s fire emergency efforts.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WIRES emergency fund: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wires.org.au\/donate\/emergency-fund\">https:\/\/www.wires.org.au\/donate\/emergency-fund<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Port Macquarie\u2019s Koala Hospital: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.koalahospital.org.au\/shop\/donation\">https:\/\/www.koalahospital.org.au\/shop\/donation<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Birdlife fire emergency appeal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.birdlife.org.au\/current-appeal\">http:\/\/www.birdlife.org.au\/current-appeal<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to help as well, use the links above to donate or chose another organisation that needs assistance, such one of Queensland\u2019s or NSW\u2019s wildlife hospitals.
