No, it\u2019s not a joke, it\u2019s the networking drinks at the Australian LCA Conference.<\/p>\n

Folk with an interest in the circular economy and life cycle assessment are gathering in Cronulla<\/a>, just south of Sydney, on 4 \u2013 6 of March to engage in some serious knowledge-sharing. As an active member of the Australian LCA Society, Edge is involved in the organisation of this event.<\/p>\n

LCA has been widely adopted in Australia in the infrastructure and property sectors as a framework that informs benchmarking, design and strategic decision making. It\u2019s no wonder that so many participants in the conference are active in the construction, energy and building products industry. Still, the conference also attracted participants from agri-food, fast-moving consumer goods and broader corporate governance. Likewise, the keynote speakers<\/a> hail from academia and different parts of the industry.<\/p>\n

How will it all go?<\/p>\n

The first day of the conference will be education-focused, with workshops on the leading techniques and tools, such as eTool, SimaPro, GaBi and the Low Carbon Living CRC.<\/p>\n

The talks and discussions are reserved for the second and third days. The line-up of speakers and participants promises to be diverse with plenty of points of view, journeys and case studies ready to be discussed. The program is broader than LCA, and focuses on broader sustainability issues such as corporate strategy and circular economy. You will hear from KeepCup, Holcim-Lafarge, GBCA, Lendlease, the Department of Primary Industries, IKEA and many more.<\/p>\n

To meet your fellow LCA enthusiasts there\u2019s networking drinks on the first evening and a conference dinner on the second.<\/p>\n
