Monash University – Material Guidelines

Edge researched relevant local and international best practice standards and sustainable building methodologies (including WELL, Declare, Green Star and Cradle-to-Cradle) to ascertain appropriate tried and tested approaches for delivering successful contribution to excellent indoor air quality and health and well-being of occupants.

Edge delivered an environmental design standards report defining the recommended advanced measures. The report evaluated and prioritized the easy-to-integrate and optimum benefit measures and covered:
• Materials specification requirements
• Construction methodology requirements
• Individual team member responsibilities for delivery of low-toxicity performance

Monash wanted to ensure occupant health and wellbeing were integrated into their building specifications and designs. The recommendations by Edge were subsequently included in future developments for their capital investment program.
