City of Canada Bay – Tree Engagement Experiences

Edge were engaged by The City of Canada Bay Council to deliver a Tree Tags Trail – an interactive and passive engagement and education service provided only by Edge Environment. After the development of the City’s Urban Tree Canopy Strategy in 2019, The City of Canada Bay wanted to engage their community further. They wanted to run one or more tree engagement activities in 2020 to showcase the benefits of trees. The Tree Tags Trail included 40 trees traversing 4.7km across the City, making it the longest Tree Tags Trail in Australia to date.

The Queen Elizabeth Park portion of the Trail also incorporated a secret code activity targeting engagement of young people (around 5-15 years). Edge worked closely with Council to measure selected trees, analyse data to produce outputs for the Tree Tags, and develop and deliver custom-designed Tree Tags and Tree Trail brochures.

The Canada Bay Tree Tags Trail was launched on 7 November 2020. See more on the project here: https://collaborate.canadabay.nsw.gov.au/canadabaytreetrail
