James Logie
Sustainability Consultant
My specialties are life cycle assessment, product environmental footprinting, life cycle costing and corporate sustainability reporting. I have worked on projects in construction, manufacturing, restaurants, consumer goods and agriculture.
Some of my favorite projects have been whole of building life cycle assessment studies delivered for the Green Building Council of Australia Green Star rating tool. We recently delivered whole of building life cycle assessment projects for Watpac (333 George St), Australand (The Ponds Shopping Centre) and Probuild (Chadstone Office Tower) for Office v3 and Retail v1 Green Star rating tools. I was responsible for ensuring the projects followed ISO 14040/44 and EN 15987 guidelines, LCA modelling, and liaising with expert peer reviewers to ensure that the Green Star submission criteria were met.
I have BSc in Environmental Science from the University of New South Wales (2010) and a MSc from the University of Copenhagen (2014).
Working as a sustainability consultant allows me to constantly learn through researching and assessing environmental issues I feel are important for us to understand. Through my work I get to help clients better understand the value of environment services and the cost of environmental impacts. When working with industry and government institutions, the consequences of achieving even a small improvement in environmental outcomes can go a long way and gives a real satisfaction at the end of most days.
In my spare time I like to keep active and spend time outdoors: whether it be skiing, hiking, running or going to the beach. I also like to travel and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent living in Denmark and Sweden and exploring Europe.
