Edge Environment and Fundación Chile have been working with Walmart Chile since 2010, helping them adapt the international Walmart Sustainability Index initiative to Chile. Together, we have developed 10 product category LCAs for food products and detergents, to help Walmart Chile’s suppliers, merchants and sustainability managers focus their sustainability efforts on key environmental hotspots over the product life cycle. This work has been closely aligned with the Sustainability Measurement and Reporting System (SMRS) of The Sustainability Consortium, with whom we have been collaborating closely. From the work with Walmart, Edge and Fundación Chile have developed several exciting new projects to engage Chilean industry for the measurement and improvement of their sustainability performance.
Fundación Chile is a public-private non-profit organization, which has been working for 35 years with the mission of introducing high impact innovations to Chile’s economy, through technology transfer and in alliance with local and global knowledge networks. Sustainability is one of its four thematic areas (the others are Human Capital, Food & Biotechnlogy and Digital Technologies).
