Edge Environment’s monthly ‘Make More Good’ donation sends $300 to a worthy cause nominated by a staff member. In March 2021, Edge’s Head of Sustainability Delivery, Viv Heslop, chose Te Rahi o Tāne Trees that Count to be the recipient.

Te Rahi o Tāne Trees that Count is a New Zealand conservation charity that has a vision to plant 200 million native trees across the country. I first got involved with the charity when I was working for the Mayor of Auckland. One of Mayor Goff’s election promises was to plant one million in Auckland in his first three year term – and my job was making that happen for him [delivery is well and truly in my blood it seems!]. I understood the only way to do this would be to partner with like-minded organisations and that is how I came across Te Rahi o Tāne. The charity is run by a bunch of wonderful people and they are doing amazing mahi.
