City of Sydney Town Hall wrapped by Sustainability

Edge Environment has been working with City of Sydney and Jackson Teece implementing Sustainable Procurement.

Sydney Town Hall is being restored and protected for future generations. In early 2012, the City started the next phase of the upgrade, which involves external repairs to the clock tower including replacing 26 cubic metres of stone. Photographic hoarding covers up scaffolding and ensures the building’s sandstone façade continues to preside during the conservation project.

Edge Environment was commissioned by Jackson Teece to conduct a comparative life cycle assessment (LCA) study to establish the cradle to grave environmental credentials of two scaffolding wrap options for the Sydney Town Hall refurbishment works. These included PVC and acrylate coated polyester mesh, which were compared in terms of environmental performance.
