Nando’s Carbon Footprint & Materiality

Edge Environment was commissioned by Nando’s Australia to help identify the key environmental, social and community-based issues (hot-spots) that should be addressed in Nando’s first sustainability strategy.

The brief required that Edge; Benchmark Nando’s existing environmental and social performance in comparison to competitors and peer organisations, establish a baseline carbon footprint to better understand the existing environmental impacts of Australian direct operations and supply chain, identify the environmental, social and community based-issues that are important to key Nando’s stakeholder groups through a comprehensive materiality assessment.

Edge undertook a detailed carbon footprint for both the Australian and New Zealand operations, helping Nando’s prioritize initiatives toward the areas that have the greatest impact. Edge also led a materiality assessment that engaged over 1200 internal and external stakeholders across the two markets to help define the key issues to be addressed in their future sustainability strategy.
