BE Campbell (BEC) is Australia’s largest pork processor. They recognised the increasing demand from customers regarding a range of sustainability targets. BEC is based in Western Sydney and has very strong ties to the community. Their mission to enrich lives through wholesome food led this strategy to focus on improving outcomes for their staff, their community and the planet. It involved extensive stakeholder engagement and a carbon footprint to determine the most important issues to focus on. The output was a strategy that used family values and the concept of leaving a legacy to drive deeper engagement.
