I am a creative thinker with a strong technical background, always ready to tackle a new challenge through in-depth research and a positive approach. I have both private and public sector experience, beginning my career in wastewater consulting before moving on to develop better recycling strategies in local government. My skills lie in an ability to synthesise complex information and concepts and present them clearly to diverse stakeholders. I have a keen interest in improving the ways we communicate environmental sustainability, and enjoy using visual tools to optimise the impacts of our work in the field.
My favourite projects are those that require deep understanding and multi-disciplinary teamwork to drive tangible environmental and social benefits. I enjoy asking new questions and developing my skillset through challenging research and project work that pushes the boundaries of environmental and social issues. My ideal project encapsulates extensive environmental data and the need to work with diverse stakeholders to create a truly collaborative, tailored solution.
I have a Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) and Master of Environment (Environmental Science), both from the University of Melbourne. During my studies, I took the opportunity to study environmental microbiology at the University of Copenhagen and watershed management at McGill University, Montreal.
I recognise the need to improve the ways in which society interacts with the environment. I see real opportunities in practically applying new scientific understanding to tackle the most pressing issues. Working for an organisation that shares these values means the work I do delivers real value, and is underpinned by deep respect for our environmental and social context.
I enjoy all aspects of the outdoors- surfing, hiking and fishing, and generally making the most of the great place we live. I like learning new languages and immersing myself in the culture of new places. I also enjoy reading, painting and getting my hands dirty on my partner’s organic farm.
