David Murray

My sustainability experience is primarily within the commercial property and infrastructure sectors where I’ve worked both in-house and helping to improve ESG performance across client portfolios. I’ve helped clients meet their ESG reporting needs and implement impactful sustainability initiatives across their portfolios.  

I believe improving sustainability performance is an ongoing collaborative effort and as such my favourite projects tend not be one offs but more so ongoing activities involving multiples stakeholders. Memorable projects include working in collaboration with property managers, consultants, and investment managers to identify and implement realistic opportunities to improve the performance of buildings resulting in improvements across several key aspects ranging from energy usage, waste and recycling to health and wellbeing. Such improvements helped to not only enhance the environmental performance of assets and improve the environment for tenants, but to encourage property managers to think about ESG where they might not previously have. These improvements also helped to support key client reporting frameworks.

I completed a BA in geography and archaeology at the National University of Ireland, Galway before my MSc in Environmental Sustainability at the University of Edinburgh.

I’ve also been inspired by the natural world and was driven to work in sustainability to play my small part in tackling climate change.

In my spare time, I like to spend time with family, drink great coffee and beer, see Adelaide via by bicycle, and play and watch as much soccer as I can.
