From 2000 to 2010, I ran an early-stage venture capital fund focused on emerging technology investments for Australia’s largest technology venture capital fund manager, Allen & Buckeridge. During this time, I realised that technology would be critical to meeting the challenge of the imminent sustainability crisis. Driven by my commitment to clean technology, the fund was an early pioneer backing solar and water technology start-ups.
My commitment to sustainability grew during my time as Head of Global Markets for Austrade when I advised Australian exporters in the environment sector on their global expansion.
I was appointed Chair of Dana Asia to restructure our operating model so that sustainability became central to our investment philosophy. As a social business catalyst in disadvantaged communities, our most recent investments have been focused on sustainable agriculture and fair-trade supply chains across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
At a board and operational level, my experience building global commercial networks will drive the scaling of Edge Environment through international expansion. Equally important will be my focus on the continuous refinement of Edge Environment’s product offering and the consolidation of its competitive position.
I am a hands-on styled board director who has previously held more than 20 appointments across corporate, not-for-profit and government.
I hold a BS (Distinction), Business Management from Babson College, a MBA, International Studies from NYU Stern School of Business and received Honours in the International Management Program at Stockholm School of Economics. I have been a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors since 2003.
In my spare time I can be found racing on yachts, preferably shorthanded, on Sydney Harbour or offshore. I also have a passion for scuba diving and long-distance ocean swimming.
