Edge Environment’s monthly ‘Make More Good’ donation sends $300 to a worthy cause nominated by a staff member. In June 2021, Edge’s Senior Consultant, Vaibhav Gaikwad, chose UNICEF India to be the recipient.
India is one of the worst-affected countries by the Covid-19 pandemic and is presently reeling under a devastating second wave. Since the beginning of 2020, there have been over 29 million Covid cases and more than 370,000 Covid-related deaths in India. In addition, there is an acute shortage of vaccines, oxygen, and other life-saving supplies.
I consider myself to be very fortunate to have been based in Australia during the thick of the pandemic. However, with my family and friends facing the Covid-19 onslaught in India, there is always a shadow of uncertainty and unease. During this time, my colleagues at Edge have been absolutely amazing in their support. Taking this even further, Edge asked me if they could direct their ‘Make More Good’ donation for this month to support India’s fight against Covid. With that in mind, we are donating to UNICEF India, which has been actively working to procure life-saving supplies and equipment such as oxygen concentrators, RT-PCR testing machines, PPE kits and oxygen generation plants for those suffering from COVID-19.
I am grateful to Edge for this donation and their continued support throughout this pandemic.
UNICEF is the global leader promoting and protecting children’s rights in 190 countries, including India.
