Every month, Edge donates $300 to a charity of an employee’s choice. This month, Blake chose to donate to SurfAid, ‘a non-profit humanitarian organisation whose aim is to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in the isolated regions connected to us through surfing’.
As an avid explorer of some of Indonesia’s remote areas, I chose this charity because it assists the communities and people living in challenging conditions in what’s referred to in surfing circles as the Earth’s ‘Wave Garden’.
SurfAid works with remote communities to nurture positive change with local ownership. They focus on sanitation, malaria, malnutrition, mother and child health as well as disaster prevention and preparedness.
