The Green Globe Awards are NSW\u2019s leading environmental recognition program, celebrating excellence, leadership and innovation in sustainability.<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\"\"On the\u00a015th October an Edge team attended the\u00a0Green\u00a0Globe\u00a0Awards at the Art Gallery of NSW, invited as finalists in the Waste and Recycling category. In 2014\/15 Edge Environment was the recipient of a grant from the NSW EPA to generate Industrial Ecology activity in\u00a0Sydney. We partnered with the Better Buildings partnership and have diverted thousands of tonnes of materials from landfill to productive re-use in new markets, at the same time saving thousands of dollars for the property companies we are partnering with. For our efforts, we were proud finalists for the 2015 Awards.<\/div>\n

So why are these awards important? The\u00a0Green\u00a0Globes\u00a0have become a professional institution in their own right; we have been attending the awards for over five years and experienced the professional community grow and evolve to become more sophisticated and stronger as we shape our new economy. The Awards represent an annual milestone, a gathering with colleagues from across sectors to share experiences and ideas. I particularly look forward to the\u00a0Green\u00a0Globes, to the celebration, the good news, the recognition of effort and the competition \u2013 what great competition \u2013 a true win, win, win\u2026<\/div>\n
As I reflect on the winning initiatives, such as City of Sydney’s Zero Waste, and our industrial Ecology work it is just so obvious. Just as making drink driving illegal, allowing women to vote, and stopping asbestos use in homes seems obvious now. Through promotion and awareness activity, such as\u00a0Green\u00a0Globes,\u00a0we can make the winning initiatives of today\u00a0tomorrow’s business as usual. We will continue to support the Green\u00a0Globes\u00a0and urge our clients and friends to also.<\/div>\n
