{"id":3338,"date":"2015-07-03T14:12:24","date_gmt":"2015-07-03T04:12:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/edgeenvironment.com\/?p=3338"},"modified":"2019-09-27T13:58:40","modified_gmt":"2019-09-27T03:58:40","slug":"200-stories-wrap-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/edgeenvironment.com\/cl\/2015\/07\/03\/200-stories-wrap-up\/","title":{"rendered":"200 Stories Wrap Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/edgeenvironment.com\/200-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">200 Stories<\/span><\/u><\/a> was created to educate, inform and fundamentally change the business as usual paradigm for waste treatment on the Northern Beaches.<\/p>\n<p>Through the 200 Stories program, waste reduction plans were delivered to 214 local SMEs generating a community of change and 700 tonnes of recyclables were diverted from landfill.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edgeenvironment.com\/projects\/300stories\/200-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">Meet the local businesses<\/span><\/u><\/a>\u00a0who participated and read the stories of how they are reducing their waste and saving money.<\/p>\n<p>The following list is a quick snapshot of project achievements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plastic film was found to be one of the highest volume recyclables being sent to landfill on the Norther Beaches. \u00a090% of businesses didn\u2019t know where or how to recycle their plastic film and in this stream alone the equivalent of 7,992 wheelie bins were diverted from landfill.<\/li>\n<li>Communal soft plastic collection in Freshwater organised between 5 boutiques consisting of 3 retailers, a children\u2019s shop and a florist.
