Edge Environment\u2019s monthly \u2018Make More Good\u2019 donation sends $300 to a worthy cause nominated by a staff member. In October, 2019, Edge\u2019s Managing Director, Jonas Bengtsson, chose the Marine Conservation Institute<\/a><\/em> to be the recipient.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe ocean is the Earth\u2019s biggest life support system \u2014 the oxygen for every second breath we take comes from it. Healthy marine ecosystems are essential for human survival, wealth and well-being\u201d1<\/sup>. Marine wildlife is severely threatened by pollution and climate change. On a very local level, we enjoy the amazing gifts and benefits from the ocean every day in so many ways, but we also see, experience and hear about how the marine environment is under threat.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u201cAs a leader in the global movement to protect vast ocean areas, Marine Conservation Institute uses the latest science to identify important marine ecosystems and advocate for their protection\u201d1<\/sup>. The Marine Conservation Institute\u2019s main project, The Global Ocean Refuge System, is a science-based, collaborative and international effort designed to catalyze strong protection for at least 30% of the world\u2019s oceans by 2030.<\/p>\n

On behalf of EDGE I donate $300 to the Marine Conservation Institute to support their critical, science-based fight for the protection of our waters and coast.<\/p>\n
